Site Map and Info

    Front Page

  • Left: Links to specific webpages, including a brief quotation that conveys the gist of the page. These links change with each issue. Some of these links may suffer from linkrot in a relatively short time (perhaps a few weeks, perhaps a few days).
  • Right: Links to websites, or sections of websites, including a brief description or quotation. Also, links to series of articles, or multi-part articles, including quotations.
  • A link is not necessarily an endorsement of the views or opinions expressed in the webpage or website to which it refers.

Ancillary pages:

  • Featured Webpages Trove — a collection of links and quotations that have been removed from the “Columns, essays, and news articles” section of The View’s Featured Webpages.
  • Featured Webseries Trove — a collection of links and quotations that have been removed from the “Series and multi-part articles of news or opinion” section of The View’s Featured Websites, Series, and Multi-Part Articles.

    This View’s Poetry

  • At least one poem, new each issue. Some by me, some by others (if I have permission or if it is, or may reasonably presumed to be, in the public domain). Suggestions are welcome.
  • In the wake of the Massacre of September 11, 2001, “Triad” is intended to be a permanent exhibit.

    This View’s Prose

  • At least one quotation, new each issue: either public-domain material, or what I believe to be quoted according to “fair use”. Suggestions are welcome.
  • In the wake of the Massacre of September 11, 2001, “The Defense of Liberty” is intended to be a permanent exhibit.

    This View’s Photography

  • At least one photograph, new each issue. Some by me, some by others (if I have permission or if it is, or may reasonably presumed to be, in the public domain). Suggestions are welcome.
  • A thumbnail is provided first, so the reader may avoid downloading the full-size image in case he finds it uninteresting.

    This View’s Guest Column

  • Occasionally, an essay or column by another writer is presented, with permission. Suggestions, or submissions, are welcome.

    Archives

  • The Archives are intended to represent, as far as possible, each issue in precisely the same way it was originally published.
  • Each issue is archived at the same time it is published: this allows the reader to bookmark a specific issue at publication, rather than bookmarking the current (latest) issue only.
  • The World Wide Web is constantly changing, and links are often ephemeral: a webpage, or even a website, may disappear entirely, or be moved to another domain or URL. Thus, links working at publication may eventually suffer from linkrot, but there is no plan to attempt to update links in archived issues.

    Contact or Subscribe

  • Contact information.
  • An e-mail announcement list, to inform subscribers of a new issue, is available.
