Volume 1.2 Site Map and Info February 18, 2002

    Front Page (Home)

  • Left: Links to specific webpages, including a brief quotation that conveys the gist of the page. As a rule, but not without exceptions, essays and columns are identified by author; news stories, by publication (abbreviated, if well known, such as NYT for New York Times). These links change with each issue, except for those “Of more permanent interest”, towards the bottom, which will change more occasionally. These links are most likely to suffer from linkrot in a relatively short time (perhaps a few weeks, perhaps a few days).
  • Center: This View’s Column, new with each issue; and, the occasional Potshot, if warranted by recent events.
  • Right: Links to websites, including a brief description or quotation. Though changes are inevitable, these remain largely the same from issue to issue (after initial development, anyway).
  • A link is not necessarily an endorsement of the views or opinions expressed in the webpage or website to which it refers.

    This View’s Poetry

  • At least one poem, new each issue. Some by me, some by others (if I have permission or if it is, or may reasonably presumed to be, in the public domain). Suggestions are welcome.
  • In the wake of the Massacre of September 11, 2001, “Triad” is intended to be a permanent exhibit.

    This View’s Prose

  • At least one quotation, new each issue. Suggestions are welcome.
  • In the wake of the Massacre of September 11, 2001, “The Defense of Liberty” is intended to be a permanent exhibit.

    This View’s Photography

  • At least one photograph, new each issue. Some by me, some by others (if I have permission or if it is, or may reasonably presumed to be, in the public domain). Suggestions are welcome.
  • A thumbnail is provided first, so the reader may avoid downloading the full-size image in case he finds it uninteresting.

    Archive

  • The archive is intended to represent, as far as possible, each issue in precisely the same way it was originally published.
  • Each issue is archived at the same time it is published: this allows the reader to bookmark a specific issue at publication, rather than bookmarking the current (latest) issue only.
  • The World Wide Web is constantly changing, and links are often ephemeral: a webpage, or even a website, may disappear entirely, or be moved to another domain or URL. Thus, links working at publication may eventually suffer from linkrot, but there is no plan to attempt to update links in archived issues.
